Two colours, and neither of them is black. The women's compression trouser comes in red or pink, at £22.99, and it is a trouser rather than a short. Both colours are the same fabric: polyamide with elastane. Polyamide handles the washing, which is most of what happens to training kit over a year, and it dries at a reasonable pace. The elastane is the stretch, and it is what lets the fabric move with you through a squat, a lunge or a running stride and then come back to shape. The run is S, M, L and XL. Seven variants cover two colours and four sizes, so one colour and size pairing is not currently carried, and the sizes shown against the colour you choose are the ones in stock. Firmness is the point of a compression bottom, so your usual size is normally the right call. If you would rather have a gentler hold, the joggers and looser bottoms elsewhere in the range will suit you better than sizing up in these will. They work on their own for gym sessions, running and classes, and they layer under shorts or a kit when it is cold enough to want a second layer. The women's compression top comes in red and pink too, if you like the idea of the two matching. Colour is the only thing here that really asks for care. Give the red a wash or two on its own before it joins anything pale, and keep both shades on a cool cycle with similar colours after that. Softener and stretch fabric do not get on, so leave it out.
