Compression shorts are the quiet workhorse of a kit bag, and this is the women's pair in the SyncShip range, at £18.99.
Both fibres here do a job. Polyamide is the hard-wearing half of it and elastane the stretchy half, giving as you move and pulling back afterwards instead of staying stretched. Between them you get a short that dries off quickly once you have worked up a sweat.
There are five colours: black, blue, pink, magenta and lavender purple. Sizes run from XS to XXL. Twenty variants across five colours and six sizes means a third of the possible pairings are not made, so pick the colour first and the sizes still available will show against it before you commit.
Most people buy them for running, gym sessions and team sport, or simply to wear under a dress or a looser short for a bit of coverage. On size, whatever you wear in your other fitted kit is the sensible starting point, and if it turns out otherwise the swap is easy enough to arrange.
Looking after them is simple, though the brighter shades are worth a moment's thought. Wash cool with similar colours, and give the magenta and the pink a load of their own for the first couple of cycles rather than putting them straight in with pale things. Softener is the one to miss out, since stretch fabric does not want a coating sitting on it. Dry them flat or on a line instead of in a hot dryer, and they will be ready again by morning.
