Gloves for the weights room, in red and black PU leather. PU leather is the practical choice for kit that gets gripped, sweated on and thrown in a bag. It is hard wearing, it wipes clean, and unlike untreated hide it is not fussy about getting damp. The job of a lifting glove is simple: put something between your palms and a knurled bar, take the pressure off the base of the fingers on rows, pull-ups and heavy carries, and break the callus-and-tear cycle that catches most people who lift regularly. Two sizes are stocked, S and L, with nothing in between. If you usually take a medium that is an awkward gap, because the smaller pair will feel snug and the larger one roomy. For gloves the snugger of the two is generally the safer bet, since a loose glove slides on the bar just when you would rather it did not. They are at home on dumbbells, barbells, machines and kettlebells, and they are just as useful for anyone doing a bit of moving or DIY who would like their hands out of harm's way. Do not put them in the washing machine. Wipe the palms down with a damp cloth after a heavy session, let them dry naturally away from a radiator, and store them flat rather than screwed up at the bottom of a bag.
