Plain blue, four sizes, a cotton-rich blend. These shorts are not trying to be clever, and for a lot of people that is exactly the appeal — one of the more affordable pairs in the shorts range, and nothing on them you have to think about. The fabric is 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Mostly cotton, so they feel soft and let air move; enough polyester that they dry faster than an all-cotton pair and hold their shape after a wash. It is the kind of fabric you notice least, which is what you want from shorts you pull on two or three times a week. They will do for whatever you are doing — a gym session, a run round the block, a kickabout, or an afternoon that is warmer than expected. Sizes are S, M, L and XL, and there is no need to overthink it; take the size you usually take in shorts. Blue is the only colour, which reduces the decision to size alone. If you want the same fabric with a bit more going on, the red and grey athletic shorts in the range use the same 80/20 blend. Wash them cool. Cotton blends can shrink if you wash them hot or tumble dry them on high, and on shorts that shows up in the leg length first, so keep the heat down and dry them on a line or a rack.
