Fight shorts in black, white and red, made in a polyamide and spandex blend and stocked in a single size 30. Polyamide is the workhorse here. It is smooth, it takes a beating, and it dries quickly, which matters in a sport where the kit spends most of its life damp. The spandex is what lets the shorts follow a shot, a sprawl or a high kick instead of resisting it. Grappling asks a lot of a pair of shorts, and a fabric with real stretch in it copes far better than one without. They will do the obvious job, which is MMA and grappling, but the same qualities make them useful for pad work, bag rounds, kickboxing or any session where you spend as much time on the floor as on your feet. One size only, a 30, so the fit window is narrow. If your usual waist measurement sits close to that, the stretch gives you a little room either way. If you are a long way off it, this is not the pair for you and there is no point pretending otherwise. State only the recorded colours: "The colourway is black, white and red." Remove "mostly", "broken up with" and the claim about tradition unless the product photo is checked and confirms the proportions. After training, wash them cool. Hot water is hard on stretch fibres, and fabric softener leaves a film that stops synthetics drying as fast as they should, so leave both out of it. Hang them somewhere with air moving and they will be ready by the next session. A hot tumble dry will shorten their life faster than any amount of rolling.
