Real leather, one size, made for work rather than the gym. These are the gloves you reach for when the job involves timber, scaffold, pallets, brick or anything else that is rough on hands. Leather has been the material for this kind of work for a very long time, and for good reasons. It is genuinely hard wearing, it stands up to scuffing and abrasion better than fabric, and it moulds to the hand that wears it, so a pair that feels stiff on the first morning is usually the best-fitting thing in the van by the end of the month. Red and white here, which is easy to pick out on a busy site or in the back of a vehicle. They come in a single standard size, so there is no choosing between S and L. That covers most adult hands, but it does mean the fit is the fit, and if your hands are unusually small or large it is worth taking that into account before you order. Outside of work they are equally sensible for gardening, splitting logs, moving house or clearing out a shed, anywhere your hands would otherwise take the damage. Leather does not like washing machines. Brush the dirt off once they are dry, wipe them down if they need it, and let them dry slowly and naturally. A radiator or direct heat will stiffen and crack leather far faster than the work ever will. Store them somewhere dry rather than leaving them in a damp bag over the weekend.
