The Hampton Divan is the restrained option: straight lines, an upholstered base, and a headboard that keeps to a simple rectangle. It is the bed to choose when the rest of the room is already doing something — patterned curtains, a strong wall colour, a busy rug — and the bed needs to sit back rather than compete.

Practically, a divan earns its place through the base. It gives the mattress even, continuous support and keeps the bed's footprint tight to the mattress size, which counts for a great deal in a room where every centimetre is already spoken for.

Headboards come in two heights, so you can match the bed to your ceiling rather than the other way round. Fabric and colour are yours to choose throughout, and the bed is made once the order is placed — never taken from stock — so plan for a few weeks rather than a few days.
