Compression leggings at £26.99, and the choice is a short one: black, or lavender purple. Between them the two colours account for six variants rather than the eight a full grid would give, so it is worth seeing which sizes are showing under the colour you want before you decide on one. Polyamide with elastane is the usual pairing for a legging like this. Polyamide is smooth and takes hard wear, which is most of what a legging is asked to do when it goes on and off several times a week. The elastane is the give: it stretches as you move and settles back afterwards rather than staying stretched. Sizes are S, M, L and XL. Take the size you usually wear in leggings. A compression legging is meant to feel firm going on and unremarkable ten minutes into a session, so a bit of effort getting them up is normal. If they still feel restrictive once you are warm, they are a size too small. They will take gym work, running, a class, or cycling in warmer weather, and they layer under shorts if you would rather not wear them on their own. Stretch fabric asks a little more of you at the wash than cotton does. Cool cycle, inside out, with similar shades. There is nothing useful for fabric softener to do on a synthetic, so leave the bottle where it is. Then dry them on a line or flat rather than in the machine, because heat is harder on a stretch fibre than any wash you will ever give it.
