It is light enough that you stop noticing it, it dries quickly after a wash or a hard hour, and it does not hold onto sweat the way a heavier cotton short would. On a court where you are up and down for an hour, that matters more than it sounds. Sizes are S, M, L and XL, and both colours are available in every one of them, so you are not made to choose between the fit you want and the colour you want. Basketball shorts are usually worn on the roomier side, so if you are between sizes, most people are happier taking the larger. Beyond the court they work for gym sessions, five-a-side, running in warm weather and general training where you would rather have room than a close fit.
