Athletic Shorts

A red and grey pair, and the only colourway this one is made in. These are general athletic shorts in a cotton-rich blend, sized S to XL. The mix is 80% cotton with 20% polyester, which is a sensible combination for shorts you expect to wear often. Cotton is the part that feels soft and lets air through; polyester is the part that dries faster than cotton would on its own and helps the shorts keep their shape through repeated washing. You get most of the comfort of a cotton short without it staying damp all afternoon. Nothing about them is sport-specific. They suit weights, cardio, a kickabout in the park, or the walk home afterwards, and a cotton blend is kinder than a slick synthetic when you are sat on a bench between sets, which is a fair share of most gym sessions. Four sizes are made: S, M, L and XL. Shorts in a cotton blend are more forgiving about sizing than compression kit is, so the size you normally take will do the job. Cotton blends do shrink a little if you cook them, and shorts show that in the leg length before anywhere else, so wash cool and stay away from a hot tumble dryer. A cool tumble or a rack is fine. Give the red and grey a couple of washes with darker colours before they meet anything pale.
